Our impressions from the Java Forum Nord 2019
The Java Forum Nord 2019 took place for the fifth time in Hannover on September 24th 2019 and for the second time with the participation of Cloudogu. Our impressions of last year’s event can be found here.
For the first time the continuously growing event took place in the Congress Centrum Hannover and now has over 600 participants.
Next to the outstanding keynote speeches by network activist Katharina Nocun and author Adam Bien, visitors were offered a total of 31 talks in five different tracks with best practices and current IT topics.
In addition, numerous other well-known speakers were on site, like Jens Schauder of JUG Ostfalen, or Alex Schladebeck as an expert for agile teams.
The organization of the event was again handled by the eight northern Java User Groups in cooperation with the JUG Germany as the official organizer.
Diverse program
Katharina Nocun’s keynote on “Privacy” and Adam Bien’s on “Microservices and Micro Frontends” were certainly the highlights of the program. Critical, open and honest: both speakers gave new impulses and made the listeners think.
The other exciting talks dealt with a wide range of topics: In addition to the focus on Java, talks were also offered on Kubernetes, Agile methods and their application, as well as Deep Learning.
The short breaks between the talks were used for interesting discussions as well as for strengthening with numerous delicious snacks and meals.
The final social event with the organizers, speakers and like-minded people from other companies in the “Glitter Cellar” at the Milano in Hanover ran differently than originally planned, but was nevertheless a nice conclusion to an entertaining and informative conference day.
We would like to thank all visitors, participants and discussion partners for the many great experiences.
